A little change, a different ritual.
Some rituals don’t need reinventing. They just need one good ingredient.
Our Vanilla Chai brings together bold black tea, warm chai masala, creamy milk and the delicate sweetness of our Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla.
The vanilla softens the sharper notes of the spices, adds a naturally sweet aroma and rounds out the depth of the tea.
Simple. Warm. Comforting. And very easy to make.
Vanilla Chai | Serves 2
• ½ cup water
• 2½ tsp black tea
• ½ tsp chai masala
• 2½ cups milk of your choice
• Sugar, to taste
The ritual
Split the vanilla pod lengthwise and scrape out the seeds. Keep the pod, there’s still plenty of flavour in it.
Bring the water to a boil, then add the black tea and chai masala. Let it simmer for 3–5 minutes.
Add the milk, followed by the vanilla seeds and scraped pod.
Let it come to a full boil and watch closely as it rises towards the edge of the pan. Just before it overflows, lower the heat. Let it rise once more for a deeper, richer chai.
Turn off the heat, strain, sweeten to taste and serve warm.
Sometimes, the smallest change makes all the difference.
